Mapping the Mental Health Crisis

The rollback of critical federal health infrastructure threatens the health and safety of American communities. Defunding and reorganizing key agencies disrupt life-saving services, while executive orders dismantle data systems vital for rapid decision-making. Examining the potential consequences of losing reliable national health data, this paper explores alternative solutions to support America’s public health system. Funding cuts or structural weakening are affecting key data programs across the CDC, HHS, and the Census Bureau. These systems provided over 1,200 reports and alerts in 2023 alone, supporting health efforts in all 50 states.
Fraym empowers health leaders with precise, neighborhood-level data for rapid, targeted, and equitable public health responses. By leveraging ML and AI, our platform integrates diverse data sources to provide hyperlocal insights across the U.S., replicating and often exceeding federal data system capabilities. We deliver critical intelligence on disease prevalence, drivers of health outcomes, early warning systems for emerging crises, and socioeconomic vulnerability, enabling governments, health organizations, and community partners to implement effective interventions at a lower cost and higher frequency.
Using advanced machine learning, Fraym’s platform blends survey data, health records, and geospatial intelligence. This approach creates detailed maps that reflect the health and socioeconomic conditions of every neighborhood in the country. We support hundreds of indicators and deliver real-time updates, allowing responders to deploy mobile clinics, expand preventative care, and target at-risk populations. Fraym’s precision helps agencies move from reactive to proactive public health planning.
